Puffer, wide denim and boots
Why it works
The jacket and jeans both have volume, but the grey center keeps their proportions easy to read. A puffer creates a rounded upper block, wide denim carries that width downward, and substantial boots give the whole outline a stable endpoint. Dark blue separates the trousers from the black outerwear without a sharp color change. An optional knit beanie could add another texture; the pictured composition keeps the head uncovered. This is an illustration of winter layering, not a claim that any puffer, jeans or boots will protect you in particular conditions. Build the visual shape with suitable real layers, then judge warmth, moisture resistance and footing from the actual garments you choose.

The proportions
Get the fit right.
Try the jacket over the layers you intend to wear, with enough room to move your arms without pulling the shoulders tight. A hip-length outer layer keeps the wide jeans visible; a longer parka will create a different proportion. Keep denim hems clear of the ground and wet surfaces. Choose boot fit and traction for the real conditions rather than the picture. If the layers bunch at the neck, simplify the sweater collar before adding a scarf or closing the jacket fully.
Your wardrobe, your version
Make it yours.
- Use a charcoal quilted jacket for less rounded upper volume.
- Swap dark blue denim for black to make the layers more tonal.
- Add a suitable base layer under the knit when your actual conditions require it.
